Sovereign Justice by Sarah Sawyer

Seeking The Truth

Sovereign Justice by Sarah Sawyer is a powerful Christian historical novel. It is the fourth book in the Choctaw Tribune series but can be read as a stand-alone. I recommend reading the previous books first for maximum enjoyment.

I enjoyed meeting up with familiar faces. The leading lady is very much a strong modern woman of her time. She seeks truth and justice and is prepared to go the extra mile in its pursuit. She believes “a woman’s place is wherever God puts her.”

Being in touch with God means listening to His voice and being attentive. “If you really feel its what the Creator has called you to do, then do it.” God’s plans are the best for our lives. If we follow His plans, we will not fail.

Prayer is important. “God, help me… She didn’t know what to pray.” When words fail us, God hears our hearts.”

Night Watch by Susan Sleeman

Thrilling

Night Watch by Susan Sleeman is an exciting Christian suspense. It is the fifth book in the Nighthawk Security series but can be read as a stand-alone.

The reader is involved in the action from the start as a break in throws doubt on whether a previous death was an accident. The team from Nighthawk Security are searching for persons unknown as they and the reader hunt for clues.

God is a faithful God. At times of heartache and uncertainty we need to fully rely on Him. “When the big twists and turns of life assaulted a person, only God could provide the support needed to make it through.” Life can be overwhelming at times but God is faithful.

Prayer is simply talking to God. “She lost herself in prayer, completely focusing on God.” It is only right that we should be fully present for God because He is fully present for us.

Girl Zero by A.A. Dhand

No Nonsense Policing

Girl Zero by A.A Dhand is an exciting contemporary crime suspense. It is the second book in the Harry Virdee series but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed meeting up with familiar faces.

Once more the reader catches up with Harry Virdee and his brother Ronnie. Both are determined to change the streets of Bradford – one as a cop and one as a criminal. “One who enforced the rules. And one who made his own.” Terrible circumstances force the brothers to work together.

The Bradford streets can be dangerous places. An escapee from the underworld has been plotting revenge, now it is time to put the pieces into play.

The locations mirror the action which is very dark and stormy. Harry Virdee is determined to clean up the streets of Bradford. He will do whatever is necessary to protect the innocent. He is a tough cop with a heart of gold who is not afraid to push boundaries.

The Evacuee War by Katie King

The Essence Of Village Life

The Evacuee War by Katie King is a delightful historical novel that will warm your heart. It is the third book in the Evacuee series but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed catching up with familiar faces.

The year is 1940 and the place is a village near Harrogate. The reader is in for a real treat as we follow the eleven year old twins Jessie and Connie, and their family and friends.

Being evacuated from London to stay with a vicar and his wife, the children enjoy fresh air, village life and animals. The reader is charmed by the presence of a pet pig and pony.

Peer rivalry at a new school creates problems but there is a creative solution.

The children have big hearts as they think of others who are less fortunate.
