City Of Sinners by AA Dhand is another compulsive crime thriller in the Harry Virdee series that had me hooked from the start.
Once more the reader returns to Bradford to join Harry Virdee in his fight against crime. Harry Virdee is a policeman fighting to clean up the streets of Bradford. He does what needs to be done to keep those he loves safe and to clean up the streets of the city he inhabits.
All the characters were well drawn, eliciting various emotional responses from the reader.
We ‘see’ the action through the eyes of Harry Virdee but we also ‘hear’ the voice of the killer from the start. We have to work out who it is… I failed miserably at that – again!
No Nonsense Policing
Girl Zero by A.A Dhand is an exciting contemporary crime suspense. It is the second book in the Harry Virdee series but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed meeting up with familiar faces.
Once more the reader catches up with Harry Virdee and his brother Ronnie. Both are determined to change the streets of Bradford – one as a cop and one as a criminal. “One who enforced the rules. And one who made his own.” Terrible circumstances force the brothers to work together.
The Bradford streets can be dangerous places. An escapee from the underworld has been plotting revenge, now it is time to put the pieces into play.
The locations mirror the action which is very dark and stormy. Harry Virdee is determined to clean up the streets of Bradford. He will do whatever is necessary to protect the innocent. He is a tough cop with a heart of gold who is not afraid to push boundaries.
An Exciting Beginning
Darkness Rising by A.A. Dhand is a suspenseful contemporary crime novel. It is 0.5 in the D.I. Harry Virdee series. In the book the reader is introduced to Harry Virdee, a hardened Bradford police officer determined to clean up crime from the streets. He is a tough copper with a sensitive side as he tries to protect the weaker elements in society.
Harry Virdee defied his parents when he entered a mixed-race marriage for love. Both sets of parents are estranged from the couple.
As the murders begin, Harry Virdee has his suspect but needs proof. He is a straight copper who cannot be bought but fears for his family. What will Harry Virdee do? You must read the book to find out.
