My Shadow And I by Kevin Richardson is a delightful book for young children.
The tale shows the beautiful bond between a young boy and his dog. We see that they do everything together. They are a partnership. Where the young boy goes, Shadow follows.
We learn about cooperation and kindness as the boy thinks about what Shadow wants when he is not there.
It is a simple story making it easy for young children to remember it and its message.

The Cotton Mill Kitty: Kindness Pays by Nana Babs is a pure delight for young children and indeed, for anyone of any age. It is a most beautiful book for cat lovers everywhere.
The story is a simple one – a stray cat remembers when he had a home and is now trying to survive in the elements. It is a tale that cannot help but tug at your heartstrings. I can empathise with Mottley as we are also feeding a stray cat in need of love and care.
There is the theme of kindness. As you give it out, so it is returned to you.
We see that Mottley has empathy too as he recognises sadness in others.

Kitty Angel by Jane Daphne Knight is a pure delight and perfect to read to young children or for more confident readers to read themselves. Whatever your age, Kitty Angel is a perfectly charming read.
We see that life has fractured a family, leaving Mum and two children out of sorts. Many changes have left everyone feeling anxious. The children really want a kitten, but a kitten is expensive and hard work.
Kitty Angel enters lives where she is needed, to spread calm, peace and love. Only the young and the young at heart can see her. Kitty Angel changes lives. She stays as long as she is needed and then moves on. This reminded me of the film The Bishops Wife with Cary Grant.
Kitty Angel is an enchanting read that will warm your heart on even the coldest day. It is perfectly charming.

The Spider & The Fly by Becky Clifford is a stunningly beautiful Christian Christmas book for young children.
Becky Clifford has used Matthew 2 as a basis for her poem telling of the birth of Jesus, with the addition of a spider and a fly. It is a unique and very beautiful take on a familiar Bible story. It is a beautiful and memorable way to introduce Jesus to young children. As a grandparent, I am very familiar with the Christmas story, and I absolutely adored The Spider & The Fly.
The story is told through rhyming couplets, making it easy for children to anticipate what is coming next, and to join in, once they have heard the story a few times. It has a wonderful rhythmic bounce to the tale.
When we see the Wise Men or the Holy family, look very carefully as there will be a spider and/or a fly hidden somewhere within the illustrations. This makes the book interactive for young (and not so young) children.
