Explosive Force by Lynette Eason

Dogs Are Family Too

Explosive Force by Lynette Eason is an exciting Christian contemporary suspense. It is part of the Military K9 Unit series but can be read as a stand-alone. I have not read the other books in the series that are by a variety of authors.

The search is on for a killer but along the way there are shootings and explosions. Someone is out to silence a military reporter.

Jealousy within the workplace means that trust is in short supply. The truth is buried as the lies rise to the surface.

There are strong family ties within the military as sons and daughters continue the family lines in the same roles as their fathers and grandfathers.

Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason

A Thrilling Conclusion

Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason is a thrilling contemporary crime suspense. It is the fourth book in the Danger Never Sleeps series but can be read as a stand-alone. I have loved the whole series. It has been utterly brilliant.

There is an air of tension and suspense that wafts over the whole novel that made my heart race. Actions have consequences and it seems like someone is out for revenge. A life-times events are coming to a head. The reader ‘hears’ the killer’s voice and we know his name from the start. But we do not know why or why now?

Secrets have been kept over the years. As they trickle out, a character wonders if recent past events are quite as they seem.

A close bond has formed over the years between a father and his daughter. They love puzzles and are always on the same wavelength.

Streets Of Darkness by A.A. Dhand

The Battle For Bradford

Streets Of Darkness by A.A. Dhand is an exciting contemporary crime novel that drew me in from the start. It is the first book in the D.I. Harry Virdee series which promises to be fabulous.

The reader is introduced to Harry Virdee, a no nonsense copper who does what he has to in order to fight crime and to keep his family safe. He is not afraid to dirty his hands.

Harry Virdee is working for improvement from within the law. When he sees a miscarriage of justice, he is determined to right the wrong no matter who it is being set up.

Family is important. Harry Virdee and his wife chose love over their respective religions as they entered a mixed race marriage and are now estranged from both sets of parents. They still feel love and loyalty to their elders.

The novel is set in Bradford. It is a multi-cultural city but there are those who seek to ignite tensions and fan the flames for personal gain.

A Compelling Read

World War II is over but the hunt for Nazi war criminals in just beginning. Ordinary men and women were recruited in Britain to do ordinary jobs in Germany but were to seek out the worst perpetrators to bring them to justice. There was a conflict between those wanting to see justice served and those wanting to use the brains of the scientists for progress. Each agent had to decide to which department they were reporting. It was a time of concealment of truth, mistrust, deceit and the twisting of facts. Each person could only be responsible for their own choices. Each person had to live with the consequences of their actions.

The reader witnesses the war criminals trying to justify what they had done. “I saw what I wanted to see … The acceptable version of things.” Too many people turned a blind eye to the persecution of others. There were many with blood on their hands. They were guilty of doing nothing.

The war criminals used cunning and lies to blend in. Even those trained in espionage and deception would be taken in by a front of innocence.
