Chicago: A Journey Through Life by Sonya Thompson

God Is Looking Out

Chicago: A Journey Through Life by Sonya Thompson is a short but charming collection of true life tales. Divided into seven chapters with subsections, the reader is enthralled by the encounters with God. Some people may call the stories coincidences but I much prefer to call them God instances. There are times in our lives when we really can see God stepping in and working for our good. Sometimes we realise it, other times we don’t.

Sonya Thompson has a wonderful chatty style. The reader feels as if they are sitting at her feet and listening to the tales.

I really enjoyed these unique stories. It is always good to hear testimonies about God’s goodness and faithfulness.

Buying Love by Toni Shiloh

A Child Of God

Buying Love by Toni Shiloh is a contemporary Christian romance and the first book in the Maple Run series. It was a most delightful read.

The book concentrates on the twin themes of family and belonging. We all want someone to love us. Family does not have to be the traditional nuclear family, family is the people who know us and love us. For those who know God, family is the family of God and we are all loved by Him.

Searching to belong can be a powerful motivating force. We need to hand the driver’s seat of our lives over to God as His plans for us are perfect.

God is our perfect Father. For those who have not known earthly fathers or who have not had good role models, it is almost impossible to comprehend how long and how wide and how deep is the love of God for us.

None So Blind by Chautona Havig

Second Chances

None So Blind by Chautona Havig is a delightful Christian novel. It is the first in the sight Unseen series and I cannot wait for the rest. None So Blind is a cleverly constructed novel about an awakening and second chances.

The novel has God at the centre. Characters pray and turn to Him. The local pastor helps to instruct in a godly way and provide answers to questions.

There is the theme of trust – both human and divine. “Remember you can choose to trust in His faithfulness.” Trust is a choice. We can give inĀ  to fears or we can trust God. We need to trust others too as we were never meant to live in isolation.

Springs Of Love by Various

Feel Good Tales

Springs Of Love is a collection of three delightful tales that will warm the reader’s heart and make them feel good.

The Kissing Bridge by Laura V Hilton is a delightful start to this Amish trio. With themes of faith, trust and God’s plans, the reader is in for a real treat. “We are not saved by joining the Amish church… we’re saved by faith.” Buildings don’t save people, only God does that. Seeking Him first and listening for His voice are the best way to live life. There is the difficult topic of violence due to anger issues. The tale is covered by love – both human and divine. A wonderful read.
