Buying Love by Toni Shiloh

A Child Of God

Buying Love by Toni Shiloh is a contemporary Christian romance and the first book in the Maple Run series. It was a most delightful read.

The book concentrates on the twin themes of family and belonging. We all want someone to love us. Family does not have to be the traditional nuclear family, family is the people who know us and love us. For those who know God, family is the family of God and we are all loved by Him.

Searching to belong can be a powerful motivating force. We need to hand the driver’s seat of our lives over to God as His plans for us are perfect.

God is our perfect Father. For those who have not known earthly fathers or who have not had good role models, it is almost impossible to comprehend how long and how wide and how deep is the love of God for us.

There is the theme of trust. Broken relationships in the past mean people may have trust issues but they must learn to trust others again.

The love of money is the root of all evil. However having money is not wrong. It is what we do with our money that will show where our heart is.

Taking care of the orphans is another theme. There is a beautiful relationship within the novel.

I love the fact that a lead character drives a Prius. This shows that the character cares about their carbon footprint.

Buying Love had a unique storyline that was absolutely delightful and really lodged in my heart.

A totally charming read.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
