Ellie-May And Her Toy Dragon, Ben by Genna Rowbotham

Very Charming

Ellie-May And Her Toy Dragon, Ben by Genna Rowbotham is a very charming book for the under fives.

The story is written in rhyme with verses four lines long. There is a bouncy rhythm enabling children to join in once they have heard the tale a few times. They can anticipate the action.

All the book is beautifully illustrated. The drawings are simple but effective. Each page is packed full of detail, enabling you to talk it through with your children.

The dragon has a friendly face that will appeal to young children.

I only had a kindle copy in black and white. I imagine the actual book will look stunning in colour.

There is a simple message for children too – it’s okay to have fun but you need your sleep too.

Ellie-May And Her Toy Dragon, Ben is a delightful addition to any young child’s library.

I received a free copy from Rachel’s Random Resources. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

Ellie-May & her Toy Dragon, Ben

Feeling so excited for a new day ahead, Ellie-May

struggles to sleep. So when her toy dragon, Ben

grows into a real-life dragon, they take to the starry

skies and embark on a night-time adventure together,

where they visit Ben’s castle and enjoy a dragon party.

But as the sun begins to rise and the stars fade,

will Ellie-May be able to stay awake?
