Season Of Joy by Alexa Verde

Searching For A Forever Home

Season Of Joy by Alexa Verde is a wonderful warm contemporary Christian romance. The feelings of love and care just leap from the pages, encompassing the reader.

The novel is about searching – searching to belong, searching for a home, searching for the lost. The reader is reminded that God searches for us with a passion until we come home.

We have all experienced loss. Tied in to loss are feelings of guilt – guilt over what we did or didn’t do. “The feeling of guilt stops us being closer to the Lord.” We need to hand our guilt and burdens to God and receive His forgiveness and love. We need to forgive ourselves.

We all have choices to make. We cannot be responsible for someone else’s choices. We are only responsible for our own.

Dolce Vita (Sweet Life) by Autumn Macarthur

Receiving The Light

Dolce Vita (Sweet Life) by Autumn Macarthur is a delightful contemporary Christian novel that focuses on forgiveness. It is the eighth book in A Tuscan Legacy series but can be read as a stand-alone.

It is easy to know that we must forgive but actually forgiving may be hard to do. Resisting the urge to forgive will guarantee carrying a burden that was never meant for us. Sometimes we need help to forgive. “It’s not easy for us… all we need is the tiniest seed of willingness… He does the rest.” If we cry out to Jesus, He will help us to forgive. This reminds me of Corrie ten Boom who needed the Lord’s help in order to shake the hand of the former concentration guard who was responsible for her sister Betsie’s death.

The Firefighter’s Twins by Heidi McCahan

Fun Filled And Light Hearted

The Firefighter’s Twins by Heidi McCahan is a sweet Christian contemporary romance with strong themes grounded in God.

We all need to trust God in the good and the bad times. Too often we try to make it through life, being self sufficient or making decisions based on our fears. We can trust God at all times and in all situations. “You have to trust that God will provide, even if His provision doesn’t look like you think it should.”

The novel is community minded. “Incredible things happen when people pull together.” A community works together to bless the family of a veteran. “Our congregation always pulls together when there’s a need.” This is the church functioning as Jesus intended.
