Divine Connection by Adah Dobele

A Life Lived With The Great I Am

Divine Connection by Adah Dobele is a wonderful book full of Godly truths and wisdom as to how to live a life connected to God. Everything Adah Dobele says is backed up by scripture. The book is punctuated with questions and suggestions as to how we can live a life in partnership with God. “All I needed to do was seek God.”

God is concerned with a relationship and not a ritual. He calls us not only to go to church on a Sunday but to be the church all week. “We must be the church seven days a week.” Our motive must always be to do the will of God. “God looks at our hearts, not the church we go to.” We cannot fool God. He looks at our inner most being.

We need to keep our eyes focussed on God. To be opened handed Christians. To receive and then go. There is a whole world that needs to hear about Jesus.

Rescue Me by Susan May Warren

Teamwork, Heroes And Grace

Rescue Me by Susan May Warren is a wonderful contemporary romantic adventure. It is the second book in the Montana Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone.

The novel has many Godly themes including those of forgiveness and grace. Life can be hard at times. We make mistakes. Others make mistakes. We must forgive or anger will destroy us. “You keep feeding that anger… and it’s going to consume you.” Sometimes it is ourselves we need to forgive. God’s grace covers everything and everyone. “Everyone deserves a shot at a second chance.”

Sometimes we believe we are beyond the reach of God. “God doesn’t show up for bitter, angry guys like me.” God longs to love us, heal us and set us free from the bondage we have placed on ourselves. “You can be free. It’s all about letting God in.” True freedom comes with love and truth. “You aren’t free when you’re trapped inside guilt and lies.” The truth will set us free.

Phoebe’s Light by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Seeking The Shepherd

Phoebe’s Light by Suzanne Woods Fisher is a marvellous Christian historical adventure. It is the first book in the Nantucket Legacy series and what a fabulous series that promises to be.

The novel has two parallel stories, one set in 1658 and the other in 1767. Both have strong women who know what they want. One seeks the will of God. The other is led by her own thoughts and feelings. “An abundance of money seemed to be the answer to all of life’s problems.” Money is never the answer, God is.

The hand of her great grandmother, her story and her wisdom seems to travel down the years. As the truths sink in, the need for God is realised. The epiphany is “This peace. This sense that she was not alone.” This is the peace of God that passes all understanding and is available for all.
