Life can be hard. We receive knocks we weren’t expecting. We have a choice… run to God or run from God. Both scenarios occur in the novel. Life without God equates to lack of peace. Questioning one’s faith in times of hardship is not wrong. “Did no one know how often I had questioned my faith?” It is in the trials, the tribulations, the questions and the doubt, that we grow.

A Secret Courage by Tricia Goyer is a marvellous nail biting, Christian historical suspense. It is the first book in The London Chronicles and what a fabulous series that promises to be.

With the action set in 1943, at the heart of the war, everyone is on high alert. A military house where staff are working on top secret photos and documents, plunges the reader into a world of secrets and lies, agents and double agents, espionage and intrigue. The theme of trust runs deep. “Loose lips sink ships” means secrets must be kept and mouths guarded.

About Last Night by Catherine Alliott

About Last Night by Catherine Alliott is a contemporary romance and a really fun, light hearted read.

The action alternates between Ludlow (very near to where I live) and London. Catherine Alliott’s descriptions were wonderful. I ‘felt’ the clean, fresh country air which contrasted with the noise, smells and hustle and bustle of London. One ‘felt’ freeing, the other stifling. I much preferred the Ludlow location.

The book had many humorous moments that kept me chortling. It was easy to empathise with many of the situations creating the humour, as the book was written in the first person. Grown up children, horrified at some of their mother’s antics, had me in stitches!
