One Wednesday Dinner by T.K.Chapin

A Greater Love

One Wednesday Dinner by T.K.Chapin is a contemporary Christian novel. It is the seventh book in the Diamond Lake series and I really enjoyed it.

As with all T.K.Chapin’s books, this one is grounded in God. Trust and faith in God permeate the novel. Sometimes life throws curve balls at us but we need to trust God who knows the end of the story. “Life is full of surprises… but God is never surprised.”

One Wednesday Dinner shows the importance of knowing God to ensure our eternal destination. “Church attendance doesn’t save you.” It will not get you any closer to Heaven. Only a relationship and belief in Jesus will save people.

The Gift: The Parable Of The Key by Kathryn E Jones

Remember Who You Are

The Gift: The Parable Of The Key by Kathryn E Jones is the third book in the parables series but can be read as a stand-alone. It is a contemporary Christian novel and beautifully written.

There are many themes including that of loss and restoration. The novel will tug on your heart and tears will fall. Through the loss it is important to lean on God. Loss brings two responses – to pull away from God or to draw closer to Him. The theme of loss is linked to faith and trust. In difficult times, we need to trust that God knows what He’s doing. That He has a plan. That He will work all things together for good, even if we cannot see it. And that He is the God of restoration and He will make all things new.

Two Suitors For Anna by Molly Jebber

Made With Love

Two Suitors For Anna by Molly Jebber is a delightful historical Amish romance. I loved it. It is part of the Keepsake Pocket Quilt series and I cannot wait to read more.

The novel shows how God is at the centre of the life of the Amish. “She prayed God’s will in her life… She trusted Him to guide her.” There is never any question of not obeying God or seeking His guidance.

The Amish are a kind, peace-loving people. Any misdemeanours are taken to the Bishop who sets the punishment.

The Feast: A Parable Of The Ring by Kathryn E Jones

A Special Gift

The Feast: A Parable Of The Ring by Kathryn E Jones is a beautiful contemporary Christian story. Its major theme is that of commitment to each other and to God. It is the second book to Conquering Your Goliaths but can be read as a stand-alone.

God is a central character in the novel. We need to trust Him especially when life is tough. His silence is never His absence. “She knew He was there even if she couldn’t see Him.” Faith says ‘I believe and I trust even when I cannot see.’

The novel shows the importance of prayer. “Keep praying and allow Me to be a part of your life.” Prayer involves listening as well as speaking. Prayer is allowing God’s will to be done whatever the outcome.
