Long Way Home by Brenda Anderson

The Car Whisperer

Long Way Home by Brenda Anderson is a delightful contemporary Christian novel about real sacrificial love. It is the fourth book in the Potter’s House series – a collection of books by different authors united by themes.

Real love is in 1 Corinthians: 13. Outside of Jesus, few of us know this real love. We are to model this love to others as Jesus shows His love to us.

Who needs love? Everyone. “The wealthy need to be loved and accepted too.” Sometimes people with wealth believe that they already have everything that money can buy. The love of Jesus is free but if we do not receive that love, we will be eternally poor. It reminds me of a quote from my pastor Leon Evans who said “some people are so poor, all they have is money.”

Planting Hope by Brenda Anderson

Wonderful – Hope In my Heart

Planting Hope by Brenda Anderson is a wonderful Christian romance which I really adored. It is the third book in the Where The Heart Is series but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed meeting up with familiar characters.

Brenda Anderson always writes warm and welcoming novels with characters that just take up residence in my heart. Planting Hope is no exception. The characters are all realistic and likable. There are some wonderfully amusing and fun dialogue exchanges that put a smile on your face and a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart. As well as getting to know the ‘living’ characters, I also felt like I ‘knew’ Gran who died before the novel began. The inclusion of ‘Granisms’ impart wise wisdom into both the readers and the characters.

Capturing Beauty by Brenda Anderson

Family First

Capturing Beauty by Brenda Anderson is a wonderful contemporary Christian romance. It is the second book in the Where The Heart series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Brenda Anderson writes novels that go directly to my heart. She draws realistic and lovable characters who face problems that are easy to empathise with. Brenda Anderson has clearly studied mannerisms and behaviours as her characters explode off the page and into life. Eight year old Reece is a delightful mix of a big heart and boyish mood swings. Anyone who has been around children can easily recognise his behaviour. He is a normal young boy – not perfect but perfectly lovable.

Risking Love by Brenda Anderson

Flying Lessons

loveRisking Love by Brenda Anderson is a beautiful contemporary Christian romance. It is the first book in the Where The Heart Is series and I loved it.

I always love Brenda Anderson’s novels. They are beautifully written with God at the centre. Risking Love is an intricate love story with very realistic and likable characters. The battles and struggles they face are easy to empathise with. They tug at the readers heart. Lissa is a wonderful leading lady – full of character traits that just spoke to my soul. I could see myself in her as I too am risk adverse. Caleb was the perfect leading man – rugged, good looking, adventurous and kind. The supporting characters of Haven, Abigail and two year old Aimee were all perfect in their roles. Brenda Anderson had delightfully captured a two year old in Aimee with her speech and mannerisms.
