Finding Love by Toni Shiloh

Trust Him

Finding Love by Toni Shiloh is a delightful contemporary romance which I loved. It is the second book in the Maple Run series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Finding Love focuses on new beginnings and second chances. With God, we can all have new beginnings. We need to trust Him and His word.

Having faith is a major theme. We need faith in ourselves and in God. We can always trust God’s Hands when we give Him our lives.

Prayer is powerful. It is building a relationship with God. At times, all we can do is pray. We need to be sure we are talking to God and not at God. We need to be sure to listen for His answers.

The Last Summer by Brandy Bruce

Wait. Trust. Pray.

The Last Summer by Brandy Bruce is a charming contemporary Christian novel about love, friends and life. I adored it.

Everyone needs friends to get them through life. Friends that love and support you always. “In our circle of friends, my business was only an illusion.” We all need friends who know us intimately. Life is a journey, seasons come and seasons go. Some friendships last, some move on. The novel explores this theme.

The book is also about plans. We all make plans for our lives. Sometimes we change our plans. Other times our plans change through circumstances. God’s plan is always the best one for our lives. How do we find His plan? By praying, waiting and trusting.

Love’s Sure Dawn by Naomi Rawlings

What Money Can’t Buy

Love’s Sure Dawn by Naomi Rawlings is another delightful Christian historical romance in the Eagle Harbor series. It is the third book but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed catching up on the fortunes of familiar characters.

The novel focuses on the theme of wealth. Money can be used for good but it is never meant to be a foundation for anything. “You’ll never have this loving family you speak of if you try building a marriage on money.” Money should never be the focus of one’s life.

There is the theme of family. One family has love at its core, another, money. Love has everyone’s interests at heart. The love of money is sure to bring a downfall. “What if he’d been born into a family that cared about helping others more than amassing their own wealth?”

Everything We Left Behind by Kerry Lonsdale

Pawns In The Game

Everything We Left Behind by Kerry Lonsdale is a smashing psychological thriller. It continues the story begun in Everything We Know. The opening repeats the ending from book one.

The first book focused on the action from the point of view of Aimee. This one focuses on Carlos, moving into the future as well as recounting the past.

The plot line is excellent, alternating between the past and present, enabling the reader to fill in some of the gaps.

Once again, the main theme is family. Family may be mixed up but family ties bind and love covers all.
