Sunshine by Joy Ohagwu

You Are So Good

Sunshine by Joy Ohagwu is a Christian suspense. It is the ninth and final book in the New Rulebook series and what a cracking end it is. The book even contains a bonus chapter. Everything is neatly wrapped up.

Sunshine focuses on mission. We are all called to be missionaries – some in our neighbourhoods, others overseas. Most of this book is set in Cambodia. Through comprehensive descriptions, the reader ‘feels’ the heat and ‘experiences’ the landscape, whilst ‘seeing’ the poverty.

In contrast to the west, the people are rich in spirit. They share what they have with those in need. Even in their poverty, they give. They have huge thankful and grateful hearts.

A Modern Day Fairytale With A Twist

Just one of the stories.

A Courtship For Clover by Marion Ueckermann is a most delightful contemporary Christian romance that will warm the cockles of your heart. Continuing the tale of the Blume sisters and focusing on Clover, the reader is in for a real treat – the promised fairytale wedding from a previous book.

A Courtship For Clover really is a most delicious read. The reader sinks into the novel and lets the action wash over. A charming read with all the elements for an escapist read – handsome men, beautiful women, dreamy settings, lovely dresses. It’s a real treat to read.

For others, patching up sibling relationships is impossible as one has died, leaving the other with regrets.

The novel is about an awakening – awakening to who they are as an individual and in relationship to others.

Don’t Close Your Eyes by Holly Seddon

Lonely Together

Don’t Close Your Eyes by Holly Seddon is a marvellous contemporary psychological read that will have you glued and guessing from the start. I just could not put it down.

The novel is written from two points of view – twin sisters, Sarah in the first person and Robin in the third person. The action alternates between childhood and present day.

The main theme is that of messed up childhoods having far reaching affects into adulthood. The actions of adults behind supposedly closed doors are seen and heard by young eyes and ears. Messed up adults project their messy lives onto their children who suffer in both the long and short term.
