One By One
Love’s Belief by Linda Shenton Matchett is a
Christian historical novel set in Germany in 1943. It is the third book in the
Wartime Brides series but can be read as a stand-alone.
This is a powerful book about having the
courage and faith to stand up against the forces of evil. We have to trust
God’s plans for our lives in the midst of this evil. “I have seen the worst man
has to offer.” We must trust that God will deliver us but even if He does not,
we will trust Him anyway.
Nazi Germany was a dangerous place to be. Walls
had ears. Hitler must not be criticised but some brave souls “stood up for what
they believed in.” Some physically stood, whilst others worked tirelessly in
the background. When God spoke, He could be trusted. “Why would God speak to
them, but not to him?” Sometimes our hurts and fears prevent us from hearing
God but that does not mean He is not speaking to us.
Warm And Delightful
Let Love Spring is a delightful, warm collection of three Christian historical romances. All with their unique tales but very similar themes. All three stories will warm your heart and speak to your soul. A perfect collection for an afternoon’s light reading.
An Angel For The Cowboy by Jodie Wolfe has a warm family feeling that simply exudes from the story. There is the theme of putting others first reminding the reader of the Naomi and Ruth story in the Bible. Eldest sister Essie will go to extraordinary lengths to protect and nurture her sisters. The theme of hospitality is also present as the sisters open their home to a stranger. Family is important. Without it, it feels as if something is missing.
A delightful story to kick off the trio.
God Knows Best
Love Found In Sherwood Forest by Linda Shenton Matchett is a contemporary Christian romance with God at the centre.
God should be the focus of our lives. The novel explores what happens when you hand the driving seat of your life over to God. “It’s all about Him, not me.” God’s plans are so much greater than our own. When we try to rush Him or put ourselves above Him, life can be puzzling and a struggle. “We need to trust Him and take one day at a time.” God gives us just enough light for the step we are on. We do not need to worry about tomorrow. God’s got tomorrow covered. Do we trust Him?
It is important to pray about everything. Prayer is communicating with God. We need to pray until we get the peace that only God can give.
