Tom’s Midnight Garden by Philippa Pearce

Time No Longer

Tom’s Midnight Garden by Philippa Pearce is a delightful children’s classic. Its timeless appeal will win readers from all ages.

I had seen the BBC adaptation as a child, and more recently, the movie but I had never read the book until now. It is such a charming read. I loved it.

The novel straddles time as two very different worlds collide when the clock strikes thirteen.

It is a pure delight to read the novel from the viewpoint of Tom as he journeys through one summer.

The garden of the big house is a place of fun and making memories. It is an enchanting time for the characters and the reader.

I thoroughly enjoyed Tom’s Midnight Garden. It is a place where time stands still for a few hours as the reader escapes into a garden of beauty and peacefulness. It is a pure delight.
