Rekindled Light by Marilyn Turk

Shine Your Light

Rekindled Light by Marilyn Turk is a charming Christian historical novel and the fourth book in the Coastal Lights Legacy series but can be read as a stand-alone.

The story is set in 1869 and the American Civil War is over. However there is still a residue of suspicion between neighbours as sides chosen in the war, loom large in memories. It is a time to put the past behind and to move forward into the future.

Losses in the past still remain in hearts. “Sometimes people get so stuck in grievin’, they quit livin’.” A life is on hold, unable to move past a moment in time.

Family is important. Family includes servants who are loyal and loving. There is a wonderful atmosphere of love within a household.

Pets turn a house into a home. I loved the inclusion of a mother cat and her kittens.

There was a beautiful bond between sisters. The strength of their mutual love was tangible.

The war tore true love apart. Is it too late or can love bloom again?

A lighthouse stands over a community. Its light has been stolen and needs recovering. This reminds us that we need to stand firm in our faith and shine our light for Jesus into our communities. If our light is missing, we need to find it and reconnect with God. Our mission is to stand firm and shine His light into our world.

I have really enjoyed all four books in the Coastal Lights Legacy series. Each book has been delightful and has warmed my heart. I adore all Marilyn Turk’s novels.

I received a free copy from the author. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
