Scarred: Haley’s Journey Home by Kimberly Morrison

Redemption

Scarred: Haley’s Journey Home by Kimberly Morrison is a Christian tale of redemption and our faithful God. It has its roots in the Biblical stories of Job and also the Prodigal Son.

We see how the life choices we make can send us soaring or falling. Once we have reached rock bottom, it is hard to claw ourselves out if the pit in our own strength. People offer us a hand up but we do not always take it.

God offers us the free gift of forgiveness and grace. Often we do not believe that we deserve forgiveness but that is a lie from the enemy. God offers us all His free gift. The question is – will we receive it?

The sins of the fathers may be repeated down the generations but they don’t have to be. We can choose to break the chain.

Alcohol and drug abuse affect not just one person but all those around them. Children are often the innocent victims caught up in the fall-out from the adults.

God knows just what we need and when. He will send others alongside us, sometimes supernaturally.

There are elements of the tale of the Prodigal Son as we witness the rejoicing over a sinner who has come home. We also see the ‘elder brother’ effect too.

Scarred is full of godly lessons for us all. Readers need to be aware that there are scenes of drug abuse within the tale. It is a powerful story of redemption.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
