Abigail’s Secret by Marilyn Turk

The Gift

Abigail’s Secret by Marilyn Turk is a charming contemporary Christian mystery suspense that I loved.

The novel concerns the restoration of a light house and the nearby keepers house. The old connects with the new as some surprising artefacts are discovered. This reminds the reader that God can restore our lives. He renovates us from the inside out, blending the best of the old with the new.

God is the light-bearer. Like the light house He warns us of danger if we just keep focused on Him.

The generations are linked down the years by a diary with entries from 1945. A grandmother and her granddaughter share not just a name but life experiences too.

There is a mystery to solve. Happenings have a threat level that raises the reader’s heart rate. See if you can work it out.

The women in the story are over-comers. They have overcome loss and grief as they raise their daughters as a single parent.

God knows just what we need. He sends people to walk alongside us at just the right time – angels in human form.

We all have fears. We need to release our fears to God in the form of prayers – worry about nothing, pray about everything.

There is a wonderful warm community feel to the whole novel. The reader ‘feels’ cocooned by the characters and included in the story.

I always love Marilyn Turk’s novels. It is such a thrill to read her books. They are delightful.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
