Complex And Gripping
Far From True by Linwood Barclay is a comprehensive contemporary suspense. It is the second book in the Promise Falls series but can be read as a stand-alone. I had not read book one (but I want to now) and I managed to follow the action.
Linwood Barclay has created a thrilling tale where many are not as they seem. As the crimes stack up the reader wonders which way to turn as suspicion and sinister goings on are in the most unlikely places.
The crime spree begun in book one continues. The reader tracks it throughout trying desperately to join all the dots. The story ends perfectly poised for book three which I cannot wait to read.
There is a cast of many. At times I found it hard to keep track – but that was my own fault for not reading book one first. I think it is beneficial to read the paperback (which I was) as it is easier to flick backwards than on a kindle.
Linwood Barclay has a marvellous imagination, creating a fabulous crime thriller. I intend to read more by him.
This book sounds like a real good page turner! The cover looks pretty mysterious! I like what was on the review, so I will be adding this book to my TBR list. Thank you for sharing this review. Have a Great week. God Bless you.
Thank you Alicia for your kind words. Can I recommend reading book 1 first? I got Far From True out of the library. I did not realise it was book 2. Today I have got books 1 and 3 from the library… I gather that book 1 ends on a cliffhanger, book 2 certainly does… You may want to binge read all 3 books… I know I do. I just wish I’d done it in order! XX
