Ford by Susan May Warren

Our Breacher

Ford by Susan May Warren is a thrilling contemporary Christian suspense that will have your heart racing as you follow the action. It is the third book in the Montana Marshalls series but can be read as a stand-alone. I however enjoyed catching up with familiar faces.

Once again the Marshall brothers continue to fight against corruption and rescue others. Their motto of no one being left behind continues. There is the theme of trust as characters find themselves stranded in Russia. Can the law enforcement agencies be trusted? Who exactly is telling the truth? As life seems to be unsure we need to know the One who always has our back. “Life is… unpredictable… But with God at the helm, it wasn’t out of control.” No matter how crazy life seems, nothing surprises God. He sees our end from our beginning.

There are characters who have never felt ‘good enough’, continually working for a parent’s approval. The good news is that our Father God loves us. We never have to work for His approval because we already have it. Sometimes we believe that we have petitioned God enough, now we need to go it alone. “God had already answered enough prayers, so maybe [he] had to handle this on his own.” God never gets tired or worn out. We are never alone even if we feel like it. Our feelings are not markers of God’s presence. Our feelings are unreliable gauges.

If we seek God, He will be found. Sometimes we do not see Him because we are not looking. “God abandoned me a long, long time ago.” God abandons no one. As with the Marshall brothers’ motto, He leaves no one behind. “What about the places God does not go?” There are no places that God does not go. To quote Corrie ten Boom “ There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.”

We are called to do life in partnership with God. “When did God step off the throne and put you in charge?” Sometimes we try to fix things in our own strength and we pick up burdens that are not ours to carry. We need to seek God in prayer at all times and in all situations. Watch God do amazing things when we call to Him in prayer.

People will always let us down. Sometimes we build walls to keep the world out. These walls have the opposite effect, they imprison us. It is time to break those walls down.

Family is important. Sibling bonds are strong. Sometimes we think our loved ones think badly of us. Do not assume the worse. Without asking, we never know what others are thinking.

I am really enjoying this Montana Marshalls series. I cannot wait for Wyatt book four to see where life will take him.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
