I Am Not A Victim by Adah Dobele

Trust And Obey

I Am Not A Victim by Adah Dobele – wow this is a powerful book to help us to live the life God wants us to live.

We need to know God and be fully committed to him. “We cannot have one foot in the world and another in Christ.” We need to draw close to God and become intimately acquainted with Him so that we recognise His voice and can ‘hear’ His quietest whisper. We need to live in faith and not fear. I am who God says I am. I am not what the world calls me. I need to live with my focus on God.

We need to draw near to God, not through our own efforts but by Jesus dying on the cross. “God does not accept us based on what we have done; He receives us because of what Christ did on the cross.” We can choose to know God. God is a gentleman. He will not push in where He is not wanted. He will respect your decision. Will you open the door of your life to Him today? You can have as much of God as you choose.

We need to run to God at all times but especially when life is hard. As we rest in His arms, we will receive His peace that passes all understanding in spite of our circumstances.

The Holy Spirit will convict us of any sin in our lives but remember “conviction is not condemnation.” God loves us and He will lovingly correct us.

We need to be bold Christians. How big is your God? Do not confine God to a box. Do not limit Him by your low expectations.

In the book Adah Dobele examines the Christian life. She backs up her statements with scripture, explaining it where necessary. She also adds in her experiences.

I found I Am Not A Victim to be an incredibly powerful book. It is perfect to dip in and out of or for personal study or study within connect groups to work through as a group, sharing life’s journey.

I want to leave you with a quote that I think is very apt:

“Better than will power, you need God power.”

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
