A Sweet Romance
Set in 1979 the leading lady is just a couple of years older than I would have been then. I recognised her patterns of behaviour and emotions from anxiety to euphoria.
The novel explores the theme of trust. It is hard to trust at times when jealousy threatens to take over.
There is a discussion about remaining pure until the marriage bed. Temptation and teenage hormones are a powerful combination, requiring strength of character.
Never Let Go is about dreams and hopes for the future. The reader is reminded of a time past when life seemed to just stretch out endlessly ahead.
This is a delightful novel to kick off a promising new series.
A word of caution… one thing that did surprise me was the occasional use of words I would not expect to find in a Christian novel. The novel is set in England so I assume this was to add authenticity to a character. However, being English myself, they were not words I would expect to hear or use in polite conversation.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
