The Linen God by Jim O’Shea

Yea Though I Walk Through The Valley

The Linen God by Jim O’Shea is a thrilling contemporary Christian suspense. It had me gripped from the start and I read it in just one sitting.

Reminiscent of the movie of Dan Brown’s Angels And Demons, the reader enters the shady world of the Vatican where forces of evil battle with the good. “The enemy mimics the things of God… to deceive and destroy.” Life is a spiritual battle. We do not always understand it but we combat evil with prayer and standing on the Word of God.

“The most powerful force in the universe is faith.” We need to stand on our faith at all times. “Faith will overcome your fear.” We need never fear, knowing that God has defeated the enemy.

Sons Of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Biscof

The Bond Of Brothers

Sons Of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Bischof is a marvellous, gritty Christian historical romance and one that I loved.

Joanne Biscof is not afraid to tackle the age old problem of alcoholism. The reader sees the affects of liquor not only on the affected but on all those around. He “knew what a battle it was – the pull of the bottle each and every moment of each and every day.” People need to want to give up the addiction but they also need help from those around them.

Being hurt in the past means hearts are locked away. “Realities had taught her that a woman’s heart was best bundled up and hidden away.” There is a sadness surrounding a character who in her wish to guard her heart, has imprisoned it.

Love Me, Love me Not by Katherine Debona

Roots And Triangles

Love Me, Love Me Not by Katherine Debona is a contemporary psychological novel that will have you gripped and guessing from the start. The story is split into ‘now’ and ‘then’ as the reader tries to piece together the action.

The tale is about a magnificent obsession – an obsession that will consume and destroy, An obsession that will not let go. An obsession that is stronger than reality.

Love is a powerful emotion. It is closely aligned to hate. Love motivates for good or bad.

Loss can be overwhelming. “He left a hole in my world where all my love fell through.” How do you continue when love moves out?

The Emerald Cave by James McPike

Buckle Up

The Emerald Cave by James McPike is a fast paced contemporary mystery thriller that is impossible to put down.

Comprehensive descriptions enable the reader to ‘see’ the actions as we travel from Jerusalem to France to Antarctica to Switzerland. Fiction blends with fact to produce a fabulous modern thriller.

The reader is in for the ride of a lifetime as the action hots up whilst searching for the Holy Grail. It was very reminiscent of Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

The world is full of bad people. “Terrorists come in all shapes and sizes.” We cannot tell the state of a person’s soul just by looking at them. We need to learn who we can trust. “When the going got tough, he knew he could count on her.”
