The Girl At The End Of The Road by K.A. Hitchins

Fingerprints Of God

The Girl At The End Of The Road by K.A. Hitchins is a powerful contemporary novel about life, our motivations and priorities. It is a beautiful read about friendship and being true to ourselves.

Too often life is a performance. We play a role to fit in, adapting to different circumstances. What happens when the role we are playing no longer exists? When it is time for total honesty, only to discover that we do not like the person we have become?

The novel is about identity. “What was I without my work?” Our identity is not to be found in our job. Our identity is to be found in knowing whose we are. “You are more than the things you own and the job you do.” Our core values are important. We need to examine our motivations.

The Story Of Our Lives by Helen Warner

Joys And Sorrows

The Story Of Our Lives by Helen Warner is a fabulous contemporary novel about friendship and life. The action spans from 1997 following a group of friends as they meet annually. There are flashbacks to fill in the action as the timeline moves forwards.

Written in a chatty, engaging style, the reader absorbs the action, being a very willing participant in the book.

Life throws all sorts at us. Our hopes and dreams in our twenties may be vastly different in our forties. Throughout all that life delivers, good friendships can see us through.

The book demolishes some traditional held beliefs. Prince Charming is not always as charming as we think. Glittering palaces can still be prisons. And Casanova’s are not always bad. Evil wears a normal, everyday face. It is a realistic portrayal of life showing that sometimes life is a fairytale. At other times it is a nightmare, a quagmire to wade through.

Holding The Fort by Regina Jennings

Amusing And Entertaining

Holding The Fort by Regina Jennings is a really fun historical Christian romance. It is the first book in the Fort Reno romance series and what a wonderful series it promises to be.

The characters were realistic and well drawn. The leading lady is a delightful mix of confident yet vulnerable with a kind heart and an amusing personality.

We all play roles in life. The person we present to the world may be very different from the ‘real’ us. Holding The Fort explores the different roles people play – from upright soldier to the caring father; from saloon girl to tender hearted young woman; from young buffoon to brave rescuer. Each personality is multifaceted, adapting to the situation one finds oneself in.
