A Door County Christmas by Various

The Christmas Cacti

A Door County Christmas is a wonderful collection of four Christian Christmas tales. All are unique but linked by Christmas cacti, common themes, locations, characters and events. The reader is in for a real treat. So grab yourself a copy, sit back and enjoy.

The Heart’s Harbor by Cynthia Ruchti is a delightful, warm tale with wonderful characters that will lodge in your heart. The action revolves around festive fare and an inn at Christmas. Taste buds are tempted. Romance bubbles. Meddling is guaranteed. With warmth and humour make this a fabulous opening story.

Ride With Me Into Christmas by Rachael Phillips is delightful, showing no matter how old we are, God still has plans for us. Romance is not just for the young. Romance in the twilight years is a gentle affair. Grief, forgiveness and prayer are also themes. Love and kindness when coupled with prayer can change hearts. A wonderful tale.

Love And Kindness by Christine Topjian

Powerful And Simply Done

Love And Kindness by Christine Topjian is a delightful book for children showing them how to be light in a dark world.

Repetition of phrases reinforces the message as well as helping children to read.

The eye catching illustrations leap out at you. They are simple but effective, showing children of all ages, races and abilities. This reinforces the message that we are all equal and we all need love and kindness.

I loved the introduction of Jesus. He was drawn as just an arm and a nail pierced hand. It is very powerful. Once again repetition reinforces the message that Jesus is always with us.

The Sound Of Rain by Sarah Loudin Thomas

Shining A Light

The Sound Of Rain by Sarah Loudin Thomas is a marvellous Christian historical romance which I devoured.

It was a cracking story set in 1954 which wove certain facts into fiction. With a comprehensive cast of characters, the reader will find that they weave their way into your heart.

The novel’s main themes are about knowing God and having the correct priorities. “There’s making money and then there’s making a living.” There is nothing wrong with having money and possessions but when they are your sole focus, something is wrong. People should come first. Relationships should be a priority as it is too late once people are gone.

There are characters who have hearts for people, who put people first and cannot be swayed by bribery.

The Heart Of An Agent by Tracey Lyons

A New Day

The Heart Of An Agent by Tracey Lyons is the most delightful Christian historical romance which just wrapped itself around me and soothed my soul.

With comprehensive descriptions, the reader is reminded of God’s beauty in nature. Sweet smelling blooming flowers and sunny days are guaranteed to bring a smile to the reader’s face.

The novel has the themes of new beginnings. “Everyone deserved a second chance.” No matter what has happened in the past, we are all a new creation in Jesus.

It is also a study of very raw grief. “An ocean of grief” that threatens to drown the living. A grief that consumes. “Prayer had been his only attempt to dissolve the pain.” We need God at all times but even more so in the bad. “Be with me as I struggle with this pain.”
