The Lawman’s Love by Angelica Hart

Of Gifts, Friendship And Love

The Lawman’s Love by Angelica Hart is a historical romantic adventure. It is the third book in the Baxter Homestead series and I loved it.

Familiar faces warmed my heart as I caught up on the latest happenings.

The book was a curious mixture – reminiscent of the Lone Ranger and Tonto blended with God and the Holy Spirit. I was reminded that we are never alone. Even when we do not see or feel God, He never leaves us. He walks alongside us, working silently in our lives. Jesus said in the Bible that He would send the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter. To be alongside us at all times. We may not see Him working in our lives but He will be always with us, whether we feel Him or not.

Life is a battle of good versus evil. This is clearly shown within the tale.

We need to be wise as to which voice we listen to. “You will be alone… for always and forever alone.” This is the voice of the enemy. We need to shoot it down and listen to the life affirming voice of God.

Priorities are important. People matter. Stuff is just stuff. It can be replaced, people can’t. “Money is the king and money is the key.” This is skewed thinking. Money brings choice and we can choose what to do with our money but we must never put money on the throne.

The novel is about grace. We give it. We get it. “All she had to do was be good enough to earn a place” [in heaven]. Grace is a free gift. We will never earn a place in heaven. We already have a place there because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

I am really enjoying this Baxter Homestead series. On the surface they are great adventure stories but dig deeper and there are real pearls of wisdom to be discovered.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
