A Time To Laugh by Marion Ueckermann is a delightful contemporary Christian story. It is reminiscent of the story of Abraham and Sarah. It is a journey of faith and faithfulness of a God who loves to surprise us.
One of the themes is trust in God. We choose to trust God, especially when we cannot see the way ahead. “We will trust God, no matter what.” God already knows the future and with Him by our side, we can face it.
Prayer is important. “We never make decisions without first praying and seeking God’s face.” Prayer is a two way conversation with God. We pray. He listens and answers and we need to hear His voice.
Having a relationship with God means we may have a special place where we feel close to God. “He felt closest to God here.” When life threatens to overwhelm us, we may need to retreat to our special place.
There is also the theme of fear. “Struggling against fear sucks the joy and excitement right out of me.” Fear is the opposite to faith. We need to bring our fears to God and trust Him for the outcome. If we have faith in God then we have nothing to fear.”
A Time To Laugh was a delightful read. A real feel good story. It took me back to the times when I was pregnant. Marion ueckermann shares the ups and downs, the fears and joys, and the faithfulness of god. I absolutely loved A Time To Laugh and was sad to come to the end of this wonderful story.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
