Parallel But Different
This was my first novel by Mary Ellis and I really enjoyed it. The novel is centred around a P.I. company and had two parallel stories running throughout. It was not confusing as the action alternated between the two locations.
The novel showed that being a Christian does not make one immune to hardship. “Knowing scripture does not guarantee anyone a bed of roses.” The P.I’s searched for the truth surrounding the Rev. Paul’s death as his widow wanted the truth to come out.
Both cases concerned monetary fraud. Mary Ellis had clearly researched this area as the details were comprehensive. She set out the cases in such a way that it was easy for the reader to follow.
