Stunningly Beautiful

I Stand Amazed: The World As I See It vol 3 by Kirby Lee Davis is a stunningly beautiful collection of poems and photos.

These poems celebrate our relationship with God. We see our need for Him every day; His faithfulness to us; grace and forgiveness.

As this book opens, there is a version of Isaiah 40.  This is followed by a poem based on John 3:16, declaring “For God loves, so He gives.” God gave His all for us. He gave us Jesus.

The poems My Everything, and My God Stands Ever At My Side speak of the faithfulness of God; and the presence of God. God is with us every single step as we journey through life.

Throughout the book, there are poems to help us through every stage of life.

In Why Go It Alone, a stanza repeats:

“Salvation’s knocking at your door,

Why go it alone?”

There is never any need to journey alone when God longs to be by your side.

All the poems are accompanied by simply beautiful photographs from nature. I could lose myself in the images all day.

These poems all ‘spoke’ to my heart and soul. I did have a clear favourite – Through It All.

“When I can’t see my way, God guides me

When I can’t hear His voice, God holds me

When I can’t bear the pain, God comforts me

When I can’t go on, God carries me.”

Wow! Beautiful words. Let them sink into your heart and soul.

The inclusion of the back stories at the end of the book is a great addition as we ‘hear’ what prompted the author to pen these words over a number of years.

I have read all three volumes of poems by Kirby Lee Davis. All are stunningly beautiful but I have to say that I Stand Amazed is my favourite. It just ‘spoke’ to my heart.

I Stand Amazed is a beautiful book to savour and to dip in and out of. It would also make a beautiful gift for your loved ones.
