A New Hope For Christmas by Erin Stevenson

The Hope Of Heaven

A New Hope For Christmas by Erin Stevenson is a beautiful Christian contemporary novel that deals with loss and healing.

Within the novel two families are torn apart by loss. We react to loss in different ways – for some they draw closer to God, for others they pull away.

Grief has stages. There is no magic formula. We each have to find our own way through our journey of grief.

In our hurt and pain we sometimes draw away from God, whilst still realising He is the only One to go to. “He was still so angry at God and did not want to talk to Him, but he had nowhere else to turn.” Whatever we are facing, God wants us to continue to talk to Him.

The enemy will always take advantage of us when he can. “The enemy would love to have you believe that God left you and no longer loves you.” We need to be wary and wise to recognise the tactics of the enemy.

I loved the idea that even in our pain, we need to find one thing to be thankful for each day.

God knows just what we need and when. He places those alongside us to help us at just the right time and in just the right way.

Prayer is important. Prayer is powerful. God always hears and answers in His own way.

A New Hope For Christmas was beautifully written. It will tug at your emotions as you read about pain and loss, and the hope we have in Jesus.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
