The Boy, The Mole, The Fox And The Horse by Charlie Mackesy

So Very, Very Beautiful

The Boy, The Mole, The Fox And The Horse by Charlie Mackesy is such a beautiful book about friendship, love and support. The message is simple – to love and be loved – but it is so very powerfully portrayed. This book is perfect for anyone of any age. All will enjoy it.

The drawings are simply done but there is so much power in them. The words are simple but the message is powerful. Every page is full of richness and beauty. It is a book to savour. It is a book to discuss illustrations and words with your children. It is a book to be enjoyed.

Friendship comes in many sizes. We all want to be loved and to be accepted. Good friends enrich our journey through life.

I loved the measure of success in the book – it was love. And when the boy grew up, he wanted to be kind. Kindness and love, it’s what we all want.

There were moments of humour. I loved Mole’s motto, “If at first you don’t succeed, have some cake.”

This book is so very beautiful, so very powerful and it is meant to be shared, savoured and enjoyed. I loved it.

I will leave you with this nugget of beauty:

“Always remember you matter, you’re important and you are loved, and you bring to this world things no one else can.”
