Redemption Bay by RaeAnne Thayne

The Perfect Choice

Redemption Bay by RaeAnne Thayne is the most delightful feel-good contemporary novel. It is about family and community.

Small town living has its advantages. Welcome to Haven Point, the town that lives together and pulls together. A wonderful warm community atmosphere oozes from the pages. The town looks out for everyone from the young to the old.

The novel is full of unique characters exchanging banter. I loved the eighty two and eighty three old sisters who still have a twinkle in their eye. The inclusion of two dogs added to the family feel of the novel. The main characters were delightful. The reader could ‘feel’ their chemistry.

Families are important. They may be blood related or blended. They are not always easy places to live especially when children are ignored or punished because of parental sin. The reader’s heart breaks. Words do hurt. “He had been fiercely driven to push out the harsh voice in his head telling him he was lazy and stupid and worthless.”

The novel is about choices. We all face choices daily. Some are easier than others. “You have to focus on making not the easy choice but the right one.” Often the right choice is our gut reaction.

I adored Redemption Bay. I loved Haven Point where residents were fiercely loyal and proud of their town. Haven Point is a place where a warm welcome awaits, why not pay them a visit today? A wonderful read.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
