To Fear The Dawn by Sean Young

Spinning Out Of Control

To Fear The Dawn by Sean Young is a contemporary Christian political thriller. It will have your heart racing as you speed through the action.

The plotline is extremely intricate with lots of fine detail. Try as I might, the outcome was impossible to guess. As the action twisted this way and that, I became more and more intrigued and caught up in the action.

The story has a real international flavour as it moves from South Africa to London to Paris to Italy and more. It is a novel with a cosmopolitan appeal. The reader really feels as if they have been on a whistle stop tour of exotic locations.

A huge theme is that of trust. The main character has to make judgment calls on whom to trust. Likewise the reader must form opinions of trustworthy characters.

A priest who is not all he seems and a rich computer wizard are just two of the cast of characters whom the reader encounters.

To Fear The Dawn has all the elements that would make a fabulous film or television mini series – a marvellous plot, exotic locations, a wide range of characters. I picture Tom Hanks in the lead role!

I really enjoyed the novel. I am not sure if I followed all the ins and outs but I got the gist of it all. I read it on a kindle, it may be easier to follow in a paperback where you can easily flick backwards if you are unsure of something.

I think that Sean Young must have an amazing imagination to come up with such an intricate and fast paced thriller. As the novel sped towards its conclusion, my jaw literally dropped! No way did I predict the ending.

To Fear The Dawn was not my usual genre but I thought it was brilliant – but don’t take my word for it, buy a copy and decide for yourself!

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
