Releasing Our Baggage
Genevieve Woods writes in an easy, engaging style that draws the reader into her story. Her characters are realistic as they have their flaws and their battles. Genevieve Woods shows that being a Christian does not mean life will be perfect. Christians still face problems but they have Jesus walking alongside them. “You.. have a problem only Jesus can handle.”
Prayer is of vital importance. “Prayer never hurts.” There are times when we pray for guidance and there are times when we feel so helpless that all we can do is pray.
There are issues in the novel such as alcoholism and pre marital sex. These are tackled sensitively and the consequences, particularly of alcoholism presented.
The novel shows the need to appreciate what we have. We are never guaranteed tomorrow. “He now understood that time was precious but not promised.” We need to set our relationships right today – including our relationship with Jesus.
All I’ll Ever Ask shows the importance of church and fellowship with other believers. Our Christian walk was never meant to be done in isolation. We need to meet together and encourage each other.
All I’ll Ever Ask was a perfect read for a warm summer’s evening.
