For A Season by Rosemary Hines is a wonderful, heartfelt contemporary Christian story. It is the eighth book in The Sandy Cove series but can be read as a stand-alone.

You will need tissues as you read because For A Season tackles the difficult topic of infant mortality. It is sensitively and beautifully written. Tears will flow but Rosemary Hines presents the hope of Heaven. “I believe that I’ll be running to Jesus.”

God is central to the novel. Life is hard at times. Life without God is awful. God never promised us a trouble free life, quite the opposite. Jesus said “You will have troubles.” Jesus did promise to never leave us alone and He does walk alongside us in our troubles. The family in the novel press into God because they really have nowhere else to go. “We’re taking it one day at a time, and trusting God to do the rest.”
