Shattered By Death by Catherine Finger

Another Fabulous Thriller

Shattered By Death by Catherine Finger is a contemporary Christian thriller and the second book in the Jo Oliver series. It can however be read as a stand-alone.

Catherine Finger presents another fabulous thriller with action that keeps the reader guessing to the end.

The novel is written in the first person from the point of view of police chief Jo Oliver. The reader becomes intimately acquainted with her. Jo is a very realistically drawn character. She is incredibly strong as a police officer but also has her insecurities. No one is ever completely strong so the reader finds it easy to identify with her.

Jo Oliver is a fairly new Christian. She finds it hard to trust God completely as she still equates Him with man. “I needed more work in the trusting God over man department.” Jo finds it easier to trust what she sees rather than have faith in the One she cannot see. I am sure most of us can identify with that thinking at times.

Anchored By Death by Catherine Finger

Thrilling

Anchored By Death by Catherine Finger is a contemporary Christian suspense thriller and the third book in the Jo Oliver series, which I am loving.

This novel sees Jo Oliver tracking down a serial killer. As the bodies mount up, so do the clues which the police put together.

The book is about the chase, which reminds the reader that God chases after us with a relentless passion so we do not escape His loving arms.

We label people ‘good’ or ‘bad’ but we all are “made in the image of God.” No one is too far from His love and grace. The novel shows that at times it is hard to forgive but we are told “as I forgave you, so forgive him.”

Capsized By Death by Catherine Finger

The Serpent In Paradise

Capsized By Death by Catherine Finger is a thrilling contemporary Christian murder suspense. It is the fourth book in the Jo Oliver series but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed catching up with familiar characters.

The setting is idyllic – a tropical island in Hawaii as we are all set for Jo Oliver’s wedding. With wonderful descriptions we can almost ‘see’ the white sand and ‘feel’ the heat. In complete contrast there is a serial killer on loose. Evil in paradise, similar to the snake in the Garden of Eden. Can you join the clues together to find the perpetrator?

Family is important. As a mother Jo Oliver is always concerned for the well being of her daughter. Her daughter is her priority which reminds the reader that each and every one of us is God’s priority. He always looks out for our well being.
