Not So Secret by Graham Orr

Sound Advice

Not So Secret by Graham Orr is a powerful book to help equip us to go out into the world and to tell all the people about a God who loves us.

The book uses scripture and stories to illustrate the points the author makes. It is written in a very personable style making it accessible to all.

Graham Orr is a missionary serving God in Japan. He urges us to serve God right where we are. Each one of us is uniquely placed to tell our world, those we interact with, about God.

Wherever we are placed, that is our mission field. We do not need to travel abroad, we can impact people for God in our neighbourhood, in our workplace, in our family. People are desperate to hear the Good News of Jesus, even though many may not realise it. Each mission field has unique challenges. “Despite our feelings of inadequacy, God… uses us anyway.” We must not wait until we feel qualified but go as we are. “God does not call the qualified, but equips the called” Leon Evans (my pastor at Lifecentral church, Halesowen). God asks us for a heart that loves Him to go into all the world and to make disciples of all nations.

Graham Orr’s book is powerful but with one simple, central message – serve God and tell people about Him. Graham Orr’s book is timeless. His advice is wise. I can recommend this book to all.

I received a free copy. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
