Audra: Dying For Life by Carol J Nelson

We Love Because He First Loved Us

Audra Dying For Life by Carol J Nelson is a powerful contemporary novel with God at the centre.

The main character receives some health news that means there are some tough choices to make. There is an element of fear but as she trusts God to reign in her life, the fear is replaced by His peace.

When God is the Lord of our life, we can trust Him to direct our steps. “Did she truly want God’s will for her life, or did she want God to do her will?” We need to be sure to tune in to what God says and not be led by our own inner voice.

God is a God of love. No matter how far we have strayed, He longs to welcome us back. “Is He angry with me?” God is not a God who bears grudges, He desires and He delights to welcome us home.

There is the theme of forgiveness. Sometimes we need to give it. Sometimes we need to receive it. Whatever our situation, forgiveness will bring freedom.

The characters were well drawn and realistic. They are easy to empathise with as they struggle with relevant issues that affect us all.

I enjoyed Audra Dying For Life. It was a wonderful faith-filled read. It’s on to the sequel now for me.

I will leave you with my favourite quote:

“Let God do the forgiving, the healing and the changing.”

I received a free copy from the author. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
