The Babysitter by Phoebe Morgan

Families

The Babysitter by Phoebe Morgan is a thrilling edge of your seat, contemporary psychological murder suspense that I could not put down.

Phoebe Morgan has cleverly constructed plotline and a marvellous cast of ordinary characters, many of whom are carrying secrets. See if you can work out the truth from the lies.

The novel alternates between the present and a few weeks earlier, moving forwards in time to meet up with present day. Each chapter is written from a different point of view, some in the first and some in the third person.

Family is important. Those who have one are not always happy. Those who don’t, wish they did. Family supports each other through it all – or does it?

Two of the characters had my sympathy which surprised me – one, a victim of circumstance, the other brought it on themselves – but I felt empathy for both.

Just how far would you go to protect your loved one? The novel shines a light on this question.

I found myself completely caught up in the action – and had several jaw dropping moments.

The Babysitter was a marvellous read. I always enjoy Phoebe Morgan’s novels.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
