Capture A Heart Of Stone by Teresa Smyser

He Controls My Destiny

Capture A Heart Of Stone by Teresa Smyser is a Christian romantic historical adventure. It is the third book in the Warrior Bride series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Set in seventeenth century England, the book is a good old fashioned swash buckling adventure. It is very reminiscent of BBC dramas and would translate perfectly onto the big screen. The novel feels very authentic with its Scottish dialect. The reader becomes completely immersed in the action. We drift through the novel being completely encompassed in the action. I ‘saw’ and ‘felt’ it all.

Full of battles, kidnapping, sieges and brave warriors, the novel has it all. You will be reading on the edge of your seat. The battles are to protect and retrain what is rightly theirs.

Revenge fuels evil men to do despicable acts. Life is a battle between good and evil. Loyalty bands warriors together. The love of family motivates action. The love of God means prayer is called for at all times.

Names are important. I felt desperately sad that two characters, woman and boy, had so little worth that they did not have names. Receiving a new name lifts spirits and gives identity and worth.

I loved the idea that “Your Heavenly Father will chase after you when you go down the wrong path.” How wonderful to know that God actively pursues us.

Capture A Heart Of Stone was a good old fashioned action read. It is just perfect for you if you love  battles and loyal heroes and heroines. An action packed read.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
