A New Season
A new season began today at my church, Lifecentral Halesowen. In the planning for twelve years, over £2 million given over and above regular giving by the faithful people. Much prayer, tears and laughter… and at last our new building is opened. A wonderful worship space, well deserved. A building where lives will be changed and impacted for Jesus.
Just over two years ago on 30th August 2015 a fire devastated the main auditorium and the front of the building. It was a very black day indeed but God is faithful. On the Monday night there was a prayer meeting in the building next door which Zion (as it was then) owned. Five days later, a previously tired space opened for worship, due to the hard work and generosity of the people. The Friday night thankful prayer meeting felt very different as we removed our shoes, we really felt we were standing on holy ground. Our home for eighteen months before moving into the back block in April while the refurb happened.
Today is a day to be celebrated. We remember, with thankfulness, the prayers of a lady back in 1979 who had a vision. We remember the leap of faith in 1986 as 150 people moved, with courage and vision into the old Web Ivory factory. We celebrate the faithfulness and hard work and vision of the people of Lifecentral.
Bless you Leon Evans for leading us faithfully. Bless you Simon Woodward, Andy Hancock and all the elders as we move forwards into the future.
