Taking A Risk
Imagine a young girl, pregnant, shunned, feeling alone. A young girl who takes a risk and says ‘yes’ to God. A young girl who gives birth to a King – King Jesus.
Imagine a man who learns that his betrothed is pregnant. A man who says ‘yes’ to God. A man who is the father figure to a King – King Jesus.
Imagine a group of men, ordinary men, going about their daily business. A group of men who take a risk and answer the call ‘follow Me.’ And they follow a King – King Jesus.
Imagine a woman who has bled for years. A woman who takes a risk and pushes through the crowd to touch the robe of a King – King Jesus.
Imagine a young boy. A young boy who takes a risk and offers his packed lunch to a King – King Jesus.
Imagine a woman, ostracised by all. A woman who takes a risk and offers a drink of water to a King – King Jesus.
Imagine a mother, so full of love and pain and hurt. A mother who takes a risk as she kneels at the foot of the cross to see a King – her son, King Jesus breathe His last. “It is finished.” Imagine her pain. Does she regret taking a risk and saying ‘yes’ to God all those years ago? No. Her risk gave her the reward of loving her Son – King Jesus. Would she trade her pain? Yes. Would she trade her love? No.
Imagine a person, alone, feeling bleak with nothing but pain. Imagine the cry “God if you are real, show me.” Imagine the joy as God reveals Himself to the person at the end of their tether. God always answers the desperate longing to know Him. The heartfelt cry.
Imagine the bereaved. Imagine the pain. Imagine the loss. Imagine the hope of Heaven because they took a risk and said ‘yes’ to knowing a King – King Jesus. Imagine the grand reunion to come in Heaven.
Imagine the dying. Imagine the journey to be faced alone… But wait… Because of a risk they took and said ‘yes’ to a King, all those years ago… A bright light is shining, a figure is appearing, a love is surrounding them. This is no journey to be taken alone. This is a walk into the unknown with a King – King Jesus.
Imagine life without hope. Imagine life without Jesus. Imagine death without Jesus. Imagine eternity without Jesus. Imagine if this was all there was.
Imagine taking a risk and saying ‘yes’ to a King – King Jesus. Will life be all plain sailing? Will it be trouble free? No guarantees but we have the promises “I will never leave you. I will be with you always.”
Will you take a risk and say ‘yes’ to a King – King Jesus?
Imagine doing life with a King – King Jesus.
Imagine as life ends hearing “Well done good and faithful servant.”
Imagine eternity with a King – King Jesus.
Imagine the love of a King – King Jesus.
Take a risk and say ‘yes’ to a King – King Jesus today.
