Hope, Trust, Love
Storm Front by Susan May Warren is a marvellous Christian contemporary adventure. It is the fifth book in the Montana Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone. However I would recommend reading the whole series as you really get to know the characters who ‘feel’ like old friends.
The main themes are hope and rescue. We all need to be rescued from a life of disconnection from God. “As long as we think we’re enough, God can do nothing for us.” If we think we can make it through life alone, we are wrong. We all need God. We may feel abandoned by God in our trials but He never leaves us. “My faith won’t protect me from loss, but it will carry me.” Faith is not a crutch for the weak. Faith is a lifeline for us all. “Don’t let your circumstances tell you who God is.” God is far bigger than any circumstances we face.
Teamwork, Heroes And Grace
Rescue Me by Susan May Warren is a wonderful contemporary romantic adventure. It is the second book in the Montana Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone.
The novel has many Godly themes including those of forgiveness and grace. Life can be hard at times. We make mistakes. Others make mistakes. We must forgive or anger will destroy us. “You keep feeding that anger… and it’s going to consume you.” Sometimes it is ourselves we need to forgive. God’s grace covers everything and everyone. “Everyone deserves a shot at a second chance.”
Sometimes we believe we are beyond the reach of God. “God doesn’t show up for bitter, angry guys like me.” God longs to love us, heal us and set us free from the bondage we have placed on ourselves. “You can be free. It’s all about letting God in.” True freedom comes with love and truth. “You aren’t free when you’re trapped inside guilt and lies.” The truth will set us free.
Troubled Waters by Susan May Warren is a wonderful Christian contemporary romantic adventure. It is the fourth book in the Montana Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone. For maximum enjoyment I would recommend reading the other books in the series.
This book is about choice. We all face choices but the biggest one is whether to choose Jesus. “There comes a time… when he either has to get right with Jesus and ask for help, or go it alone.” Doing life alone is no fun and not what God intended. There is always a choice to “choose faith or fear.” When we have faith, we have nothing to fear.
Sometimes we feel we are not ‘good enough’ for God but we have forgotten about grace that covers us all. “Your worth to God has nothing to do with your action. He loves you because He wants to.”
A Matter Of Trust by Susan May Warren is a delightful contemporary Christian romantic adventure which I loved. It is the third book in the Montana Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones.
PEAK rescue team has the mantra of sticking together and leaving no one behind. They rescue people because it is their job. They do not stop to think if they deserve it. “No one in trouble should be worried as to whether they deserve help.” Likewise God rescues us, not because we deserve it but because it is in His nature and because of grace that covers us all.
This links to the theme of trust. We can trust God and we need to trust others. We cannot go through life in grand isolation. “You have a history with God… once upon a time you trusted Him.” We can trust God in all situations and at all times especially when life is tough. Life may have disappointed us but God never will. “God… I want to believe you are on my side.” God is on our side. The question is, are we on His?
