Love’s Eternal Breath by Naomi Rawlings

One Day List

Love’s Eternal Breath by Naomi Rawlings is the most delightful Christian historical romance. It is the fourth book in the Eagle Harbor series but can be read as a stand-alone. For me, it was wonderful to catch up with familiar faces who feel more like old friends than characters in a book.

The year is 1883, it is a time of innovation in medical procedures. The novel shows the clash between the old and the new practices. Practices that saves lives versus the old order. At times it is like banging ones head against a brick wall as people resist change.

Love’s Eternal Breath shows how we all experience trials and sufferings. We think life as a Christian should be easy but that is not what we are promised – in this world we will have trials but Jesus walks alongside us always. Looking back, we can see God’s hand on our lives. Our trials can be used to glorify God.

Love’s Sure Dawn by Naomi Rawlings

What Money Can’t Buy

Love’s Sure Dawn by Naomi Rawlings is another delightful Christian historical romance in the Eagle Harbor series. It is the third book but can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed catching up on the fortunes of familiar characters.

The novel focuses on the theme of wealth. Money can be used for good but it is never meant to be a foundation for anything. “You’ll never have this loving family you speak of if you try building a marriage on money.” Money should never be the focus of one’s life.

There is the theme of family. One family has love at its core, another, money. Love has everyone’s interests at heart. The love of money is sure to bring a downfall. “What if he’d been born into a family that cared about helping others more than amassing their own wealth?”

Love’s Every Whisper by Naomi Rawlings

In Need Of Rescuing

Love’s Every Whisper by Naomi Rawlings is a most delightful Christian historical romance. It is the second book in the Eagle Harbor series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Throughout the novel there is an ancient feud, going back to childhood. Two men with different agenda’s clash as the action comes thick and fast. At first they seem poles apart but as the novel progresses, the reader catches glimpses that underneath it all, they are not so different.

The novel revolves around rescuing people from choppy seas and the need for proper lifeboat facilities. This can be seen as a motif for us – we all need rescuing by Jesus from the choppy waters of life. Our lifeboat is a mixture of God’s grace and His truth to be found in His Word, the Bible.

Love’s Unfading Light by Naomi Rawlings

Gifts Freely Given

Love’s Unfading Light by Naomi Rawlings is a delightful Christian historical romance which I loved. Naomi Rawlings words warmed my heart from the start as I sank into the novel.

The novel is highly amusing with warm and wonderful characters who love deeply. This love oozes from the pages, enveloping the reader. By the end, I had made new friends and I cannot wait for the second book to continue the story.

God is present throughout. Life’s knocks may mean we feel unworthy of God’s love. “He has no plan for me. He forgot about me long ago.” Life may have made us angry with God as we feel unloved and forgotten. God never forgets us. He never stops loving us and He has a plan for our lives. No matter how dark it feels, God is still there. “It doesn’t matter how dark and cold the night is, because it [God’s love] always rises again in the morning.”
