A Heart Restored by Elizabeth Maddrey

Fully Rely On God

A Heart Restored by Elizabeth Maddrey is a wonderful Christian romance. It is the first book in the Peacock Hill Romance series and I cannot wait for the rest of the books.

Elizabeth Maddrey always writes charming stories that are grounded in God. A Heart Restored explores relationship with God. Sometimes life intervenes and we push God away. “She and God hadn’t been on speaking terms.” It is hard to trust God when life seems to be falling apart but He always has our best interests at heart.

Relationships work best when we communicate and are honest – with others, with God and with ourselves. We need to be sure to listen too. “You’ll hear God more clearly if you’re working on your relationship with Him.” That means praying, listening and going to church where we can meet with a body of believers that will help in our journey. Relationship with God is not about being a Sunday Christian but about including Him in every aspect of our lives.

A Tidbit Of Trust by Elizabeth Maddrey

Learning To Trust Again

A Tidbit Of Trust by Elizabeth Maddrey is the most delightful contemporary Christian romance. It is the fifth book in the Taste Of Romance series but can be read as a stand-alone.

As with all Elizabeth Maddrey’s books, I adored it. Elizabeth Maddrey always writes novels with Christian values at the core and a great storyline.

As the title suggests, a key theme was trust – trust in God, trusting others and trusting ourselves. Knowing our past behaviour means we may have a hard time trusting ourselves but if we focus on God and ask Him for help, we can put the past where it belongs – in the past.

This theme links to forgiveness. “You need to forgive yourself.” We know that God forgives us, so why do we find it so hard to forgive ourselves? In god we are a new creation.

Cookies And Candlelight by Elizabeth Maddrey

Shining A Light

Cookies And Candlelight by Elizabeth Maddrey is a deliciously delightful contemporary Christian romance and part of the Arcadia Valley series. It can be read as a stand-alone.

This Arcadia Valley collection has produced some wonderful stories that are linked by characters, food and the theme of sustainability. This novel concentrates on good food, locally produced and sourced, with one eye very much on the carbon footprint. We have a duty of care to look after God’s earth. With much of Cookies And Candlelight set in a bakery, the reader has their taste buds tempted by all the baked goodies.

Elizabeth Maddrey has produced warm and wonderful characters that just lodge themselves in the reader’s heart. There is a fabulous family atmosphere and the reader ‘feels’ included in the action.

Muffins And Moonbeams by Elizabeth Maddrey

Wonderful, Warm And Welcoming

Muffins And Moonbeams by Elizabeth Maddrey is a delightful Christian romance and is the first novel in the Baxter Family Bakery series. It is also part of the Arcadia Valley series and I loved it.

There is a wonderful, warm community feel to the novel which just penetrates the reader’s heart. This close knit community look out for each other and pull together in business and pleasure. They function as the church described in Acts did.

The novel is concerned with the carbon footprint. There is a focus on keeping everything local and using produce in season. Everyone cares for the earth’s resources.
