Love Found In Sherwood Forest by Linda Shenton Matchett

God Knows Best

sherwoodLove Found In Sherwood Forest by Linda Shenton Matchett is a contemporary Christian romance with God at the centre.

God should be the focus of our lives. The novel explores what happens when you hand the driving seat of your life over to God. “It’s all about Him, not me.” God’s plans are so much greater than our own. When we try to rush Him or put ourselves above Him, life can be puzzling and a struggle. “We need to trust Him and take one day at a time.” God gives us just enough light for the step we are on. We do not need to worry about tomorrow. God’s got tomorrow covered. Do we trust Him?

It is important to pray about everything. Prayer is communicating with God. We need to pray until we get the peace that only God can give.

A Cornish Christmas by Lily Graham

Hold On To Hope

cornishA Cornish Christmas by Lily Graham is a most delightful contemporary novel dealing with life and death, friendship and family, hope and fears. I absolutely adored it as I sank into its pages and was hooked from the start.

The novel is told from the point of view of Ivy. She lost her Mum five years earlier but there is still a Mum shaped hole inside her. “I needed Mum and her unshakable, unbreakable faith.” No matter how old you get, you still need your Mum.

The novel is a study in grief. It is raw and it is honest. “Death is not something you get over… all you can do is try to exist in the after.” The passing years fail to diminish the pain. “No-one tells you how grief can twist you inside out and make the simplest thing… an impossibly hard heartbreaking task.”

Miracle On 5th Avenue by Sarah Morgan

Love Is A Gift

5thMiracle On 5th Avenue by Sarah Morgan is a delightful contemporary romantic novel. It would be a perfect read for any time of year but with its snow and December setting, it is just right for warming the reader on a dark, damp autumnal day.

The book was definitely a feel-good read with the elements of a fairytale as it spoke to my heart. The main characters Eva and Lucas were wonderfully drawn. The dialogue bounced between them and was highly amusing at times. Eva’s sunny outlook on life certainly brightened up this reader’s day. Though it was a novel, I really felt I ‘knew’ Eva and that was down to the skill of Sarah Morgan’s writing.

Love In The Seams by Jodie Wolfe

The Desires Of The Heart

loveLove In The Seams by Jodie Wolfe is a delightful Christian historical romance. It is the second book in the Twins And Needles series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Love In The Seams will certainly warm your heart. It is very reminiscent of Little House On The Prairie in that it is a warm, family novel. Five year old LillyAnn is so adorable. Jodie Wolfe has wonderfully captured her mannerisms and speech. I could ‘see’ her in my mind’s eye.

The novel has the theme of searching. Everyone is searching for something whether it is a physical search or a longing of the heart.
